GAU Grant for Graduate Programs 2019-2020
In 2016 Georgian American University established GAU Grant to provide financial support for Master's Program students.
Students willing to enroll in the Master Program can apply for GAU Grant in the following cases:
- If a student is GAU Bachelor's Program graduate, he/she will receive a grant amounting to 20% of the tuition fee during the entire study period in case of enrollment in the Master's Program;
- If a student has completed a Bachelor's degree program in another university, he/she still has an opportunity to qualify for GAU Grant:
- in order to receive a grant amounting to 20% of the tuition fee during the entire study period, the Unified Master's Examination grade* must be higher than or equal to 40;
- if the General Graduate Examination grade* is 35-39, the student will receive a grant amounting to 15% of the tuition fee during the entire study period.
* What is the General Graduate Examination grade? The General Graduate Examinations grade is the sum of the points received by the student in each section of the exam (the standardized points received in each section of the test multiplied by the coefficient, which is assigned to these points by the Georgian American University). |
An example of the General Graduate Examination grade calculation: If GAU's coefficient for the General Graduate Examination is 60 (15 points for each of the 4 sections respectively) and the applicant's results in the exam are as follows:
The General Graduate Examination total score is calculated as follows: the standardized points for each section (points received in each section of the exam divided by the max score in this section) are multiplied by the relevant coefficient (15) and then summed: 18⁄20*15 + 13⁄17*15 + 14⁄20*15 + 19⁄20*15 = 13.5 + 11.5 + 10.5 + 13.6 = 49.1 |
